The 1920 Census gives her age as 26, indicating a birth year of 1894. She died on May 16, 1936 in Rancho "El Lucero", Brooks County, Texas. Parents: Damasio ZARATE and Santos ELIZONDO.

Antonio ZARATE was born on May 20, 1877. The 1910 Census gives his age as 10, indicating a birth year of 1900. The 1920 Census gives his age as 37, indicating a birth year of 1883. The headstone on his grave in the El Lucero cemetery shows his birth date as May 20, 1877. He died on November 13, 1954 in Falfurrias, Brooks County, TX, USA. Both James H. Edwards and Eulalio Elizondo listed a female child by the name of Antonia Elizondo; however, the 1910 Census lists a male child named Antonio. I am going with the Census on this one.
The 1920 Brooks Co, TX Census Pct 3, p. 7A HH 192/212, listed the family members as Antonio 37; Aniceta 27; Julian 5; and Santos (F) 3. Parents: Damasio ZARATE and Santos ELIZONDO.

The 1920 Census, Brooks Co, TX shows that he immigrated 1866, cannot read or write, and lists his occupation as farming. Family members listed are Damasio 72; Santos 54; Carlota 35 single; Andrea 26 single.
On March 9, 1895, Damaso sold his 354 acres of the "La Alameda" land grant to R. B. Renfro. Warranty Deed filed March 12, 1895, Vol 2, page 44, Brooks Co., TX Parents: Jose del Pilar ZARATE Y BAYARENA and Josefa SALINAS.
