Jose Fernando VIDAURRI³⁸⁷⁸ was born in 1742.³⁸⁷⁹ He signed a will on 20 November 1806.³⁸⁸⁰ Jose Fernando Vidaurri inherited the lower portion of the Borregos grant, known as the San Ygnacio subdivision and evenually his successors also inherited the central portion of the Borregos grant, known as the Corralitos subdivision.
Jose Fernando had been raised by his grandfather, Jose Vasquez Borrego, and apparently believed he was his son. Not until he was preparing to get married did he find out that Jose Vasquez Borrego was really his grandfather. In appreciation for everything he had done for him, Jose Vasquez Borrego gave his ranch, Corralitos, to his grandson, Jose Fernando, in 1766. Jose Fernando moved to Corralitos in September 1766. Eventually, Jose Fernando moved his family to Laredo, where he served two terms as the village's third alcalde mayor in 1777 and 1778.
