I base this assumption on the fact that he did not carry the surname of Isabel's second husband, Juan Morales de Gomez, and also because he was not indicated to be a child of Isabel's second marriage in "Los Linajes Neovizcainos Morales, Leza y Ramon" by Sergio Antonio Corona Paez, published in Mensajero del Archivo Historico, No. 47. Parents: Juan MARTINEZ de Salazar and Isabel GUTIERREZ.
