Maria de TREVINO died before December 28, 1701. The Catholic Church did two marriage investigations for this Maria de Trevino; the first on July 29, 1688 for her pending marriage to Santiago de Trevino, and the second on July 4, 1694 for her pending marriage to Jacinto de la Garza. In both investigations she is noted as being a "doncella", or maiden, indicating she had not been married before. This is either an error or the marriage to Santiago de Trevino was never consummated. It is also possible she was widowed prior to July 4, 1694 although the marriage investigation on that date did not note she was a widow. It is also possible she was divorced or the first marriage had been annulled, although both these possibilities seem unlikely to me. For now I am assuming she was indeed married twice and that she was widowed from Santiago de Trevino. Parents: Capt. Alonso de TREVINO (The Younger) and Catalina (or Catarina) de AYALA.
