Ana Luzgarda
TREVINO Vidaurri was born on June 16, 1887 in Rancho Guadalupe, Zapata County,
TX, USA. The 1900 Census lists her birthdate as June 1888. She was
baptized on June 30, 1887 in Roma, Starr County, TX, USA. Her Padrino
was Antonio Zapata and her Madrina was Camita Benavides. She died on December
13, 1978 in Weslaco, Hidalgo County, TX, USA. She was buried in Eugenio
Longoria cemetery, Brooks County, TX, USA.
Ana Trevino Vidaurri and her family moved to Roma, Texas when she was just a young girl; it was in Roma that Ana Trevino Vidaurri went to school. After finishing school in Roma, she went to San Antonio for her higher education at Incarnate Word. After graduating, she went to Saltillo to teach shorthand and typing with the nuns. She then went to teach school in La Grulla, where she met her future husband. In Memories from La Grulla on the Rio Grande, Josefina Vera writes "Anita Trevino, a lovely lady from Roma, Texas, was also an early teacher in La Grulla. One rainy day she shared her umbrella with Eugenio Longoria and later married him." After her marriage, Ana Trevino Vidaurri devoted all her time to raising her family and did not teach again. She died at the age of 91 in Weslaco, Texas, where she had gone to live with her daughters Odilia and Irma. Parents: Genovevo TREVINO and Antonia VIDAURRI.
