The first wife was the daughter of Juan Buatista de Villarreal and Luisa de la Garza; the second wife was the daughter of Juan de Villarreal and Juana Garcia de la Garza. My conclusions are based primarily on the marriage investigations noted as #23-16, #32-21, #35-10, #41-5, and #45-25 in "Index to the Marriage Investigations of the Diocese of Guadalajara" by Raul J. Guerra, Jr., Nadine M. Vasquez, and Baldomero Vela, Jr. Parents: Sgt. Major Francisco DE LA GARZA FALCON and Leonor GARCIA DE SEPULVEDA (aka Leonor de Renteria).

Alonso de la Pontiga, who was born about 1559 in the province of Asturias, Spain, was the father of my first Longoria ancestor in Nueva Espana. Alonso de la Pontiga was a resident of the municipality of Miranda, and was also a "Regidor Perpetuo" (or councillor for life) in the municipality of Salas.

One of the witnesses testifying in the proceeding to grant Lorenzo Suarez de Longoria passage to New Spain remarked that Lorenzo was the seventh child of Alonso de la Pontiga and Inez Valdez. However, I have not yet determined the names of any of the remaining children
