She then went to teach school in La Grulla, where she met her future husband. In Memories from La Grulla on the Rio Grande, Josefina Vera writes "Anita Treviño, a lovely lady from Roma, Texas, was also an early teacher in La Grulla. One rainy day she shared her umbrella with Eugenio Longoria and later married him." After her marriage, Ana Treviño Vidaurri devoted all her time to raising her family and did not teach again.
