Jose Fernando VIDAURRI was born in 1742. He signed a will on November 20, 1806. Jose Fernando Vidaurri inherited the lower portion of the Borregos grant, known as the San Ygnacio subdivision and evenually his successors also inherited the central portion of the Borregos grant, known as the Corralitos subdivision.
Jose Fernando had been raised by his grandfather, Jose Vasquez Borrego, and apparently believed he was his son. Not until he was preparing to get married did he find out that Jose Vasquez Borrego was really his grandfather. In appreciation for everything he had done for him, Jose Vasquez Borrego gave his ranch, Corralitos, to his grandson, Jose Fernando, in 1766. Jose Fernando moved to Corralitos in September 1766. Eventually, Jose Fernando moved his family to Laredo, where he served two terms as the village's third alcalde mayor in 1777 and 1778.

Jose Maria Margil VIDAURRI was born about 1758 in Hacienda del Alamo, Coahuila. Although he was baptized on April 18, 1759, I am assuming he was born circa 1758 because he had a sister Rita Ana Veronica who was baptized on July 29, 1759, implying he was older than her. He was baptized on April 18, 1759 in Nuestra Senora de San Juan del Alamo (Lampazos). He was elected as Mayor in 1814 in Laredo. Jose Maria Margil Vidaurri married his cousin, Josefa Borrego. They first lived in Candela and later moved to Laredo, where he served as acting mayor for two terms.

In 1814, he built "El Toro", a stone tower at the Hacienda Dolores in what is now Zapata County, as a means of defense against the frequent raids by marauding Indians. However, the Hacienda Dolores had to be abandoned in 1818 due to the unceasing attacks by the Indians. All of the colonists then congregated at the Corralitos section of the Borregos grant, as it afforded better protection. Dolores was not occupied again until 1830 but was finally abandoned forever in the 1850's after the Indian attacks intensified and the small village was destroyed, including the small chapel and a school which had been built during this last period of occupation. The survivors of Dolores relocated to safer places; the less remote San Ygnacio section of the grant, or to Laredo or other less remote sites. Jose Santiago VIDAURRI was born on July 25, 1808 in Lampazos, Nuevo Leon. He died on July 8, 1867 in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico. Jose Santiago Vidaurri was Governor of Nuevo Leon from 1855 to 1864. He fought against the dictatorship of Santa Ana but also became a political enemy of Benito Juarez, who declared him an enemy of the state. He was captured by Porfirio Diaz in Monterrey on the morning of July 8, 1867, and executed by a firing squad on that same day. He was shot in the back, facing away from the firing squad, because he was considered a traitor. His last words were "...let my blood be the last that is spilled and let Mexico be happy". He was first buried in Mexico City; his body was later exhumed and buried in Monterrey and, finally, exhumed again and reburied in the family estate in Lampazos. Juan Antonio followed his father-in-law, Jose Vasquez Borrego, to the Revilla area, where he was granted Porcion 39 (containing 4,211 acres) and Porcion 40 (containing 6,159.2 acres) There, near present day San Ignacio, Texas, he established a ranch called San Bartolo.
