The marriage investigation for Nicolas Ochoa de Elejalde and Margarita Garcia de Avila (#49-14, page 216, conducted on October 25, 1711) notes that Nicolas Ochoa de Elejalde was a widower of Margarita de las Casas (aka Maria Rita de las Casas) and further notes that Margarita was his second wife. However, the marriage investigation for Nicolas Ochoa de Elejalde and Maria Rita de las Casas (#39-16, page 170, conducted on January 15, 1697) notes that Nicolas was a widower of Luzgarda de Medina, implying that Maria Rita de las Casas was Nicolas' third wife. A possible explanation is that Luzgarda de Medina and Josepha Mendez Tovar were the same person.
