Because Captain Juan Jose Hinojosa of Reynosa considered Pedro Flores to be lazy and because Pedro Flores was known to have stated his desire to leave the settlement, the Captain decided against giving Pedro Flores possession of any tract. Dionicio Ramirez, an older brother of Ydelphonso, then requested that he be given possession of Porcion 77 instead of his assigned Porcion 78 because his mother, the widow of an original settler, already had livestock grazing there. Permission was granted and Dionicio Ramirez offically took possession of Porcion 77 on May 20, 1768. Then, possession of Porcion 78 was granted to Ydelphonso Ramirez, and Porcion 79 was not awarded to anyone.
