He left a will dated Oct. 27, 1803, in which he lists his marriages and his children. The Seabury papers erroneously show Maria Rita Longoria as the mother of 10 of the children. This obviously cannot be true because Jose Antonio was about 62 years old when he married Maria Rita and he died only 5 years later. His will names Isabel Salinas as the mother of all his children, except for the one child he had in his first marriage to Maria Gertrudis Serna.

Jose Antonio Flores declares in his will that the children of his second marriage (with Isabel Salinas) are his universal heirs.
